| Oh hey xanga...
just thought I'd say hello. And I think I'll follow suit with Greg and say goodbye to you as well. for now.
maybe one day when I'm feeling nostaligic I'll post in you.
You've been good to me for the past 6 years but I feel like it's time to move on to more pointless and less obsolete things.
It's been fun.

| If you play video games and don't have a PS3 this is the only reason you need to buy one. I got saturday and greg and I played it all weekend. I beat story mode last night.
Now its time to build some levels! If you haven't seen anything about it go to youtube and check out some footage

| I went to best buy and got a 42in plasma for $799. Gotta love clearance
and now the first verse of a song that seems fitting for this picture
Welcome to the jungle
We got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money honey
We got your disease
If anyone needs me I'll be in my livingroom

| some adhesive bandage (you cant says band-aid because its a name brand) concepts I came up with for a presentation my boss is putting together. I want someone to say "ok we'll take the extreme bandages and use those" that would be so badass to see a black box lying on the shelf with a bunch of other ones.
he liked the other two as well... nothing really inspired. the smiley face i just thought was fun and the white one I thought would be a cool 'targety' look.

| Debating on whether to attempt to pick one up this weekend...
Apparently from all the articles I've read anyone with a first gen iPhone should probably stick with that one because 80% of the features are accessible to the EDGE model.
I'm not quite sure why you would drop a few hundred dollars on a first gen to go and buy a 2nd gen phone for another 200 bucks unless you REALLY want 3G (most of the articles gently implied you have to be kind of stupid to buy a new one if you already have a first generation, unless you're really craving faster web browsing). The price hike on the plans also is deterring me from just going tomorrow and trying to purchase one outright.
all I know is that my phone dies if i'm on the web for more than 2 hours (i found this out on the train this week.)
one article basically said the new model isn't anything special in comparison to the older iPhone. it's just got all the features that should have been in the first gen model.
which is why in the tech world you never buy first gen. something is bound to suck about it no matter how cool it initially seems.
Pros: 3G (duh) Screen views better in outdoor daylight than 1st gen A-GPS (which means it probably loads faster than my Garmin) Exchange Support (no more every 15 minute updates on mail) Cheaper price (subsidized) Headphone jack no longer recessed Longer battery life The amount of applications people are developing for the phone. Apparently rounded edges make it feel nicer and more comfortable to hold
Cons: Screen has a sort of yellow tinge to it Still no MMS No rumored front mounted camera for video chat Can't use it like a harddrive like you can with an iPod New plan ends up costing you more than the previous plan even with the lowered subsidized price Plastic back (smudge city) Lighter (I like a heavy feeling phone because it makes it feel sturdier/more expensive)
The list of crap I just put above is basically for anyone who has one or has a phone with similar features to compare and decide whether they want one. For anyone who wants to upgrade from their crappy razor or any other PoS flip phone from a few years ago I'd definately say go for one if you want all the fun multimedia features.
The question for me isnt whether I'm going to get one. its more like, do I have the patience to hold off till the 3rd gen comes out?
I think I'll sleep on it. |
